About
I’m Kelley, a birth and family photographer serving the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. My approach to birth photography is quiet, intuitive, and deeply respectful—rooted in the belief that birth is not something to be staged or directed, but witnessed and honored exactly as it unfolds. I work with a documentary, unobtrusive style, focusing on real moments, subtle connections, and the emotional layers of the experience: the strength in a laboring body, the tenderness between partners, the quiet work of care providers, and the profound transition as a family grows. I’m especially drawn to the in-between moments—the pauses, the breaths, the glances—that often hold the most meaning.
With over a decade of experience photographing families and more than ten years of training and practice in energy-based work, I bring a calm, grounded presence into the birth space. I’m highly attuned to emotional shifts, nervous system cues, and the overall energy of the room, allowing me to move intuitively and unobtrusively while maintaining a steady, supportive presence during intense or tender moments. I’m mindful of the roles of medical professionals and support teams and work seamlessly alongside them, prioritizing safety, consent, and discretion at all times. My goal is for families to feel fully supported and for care providers to feel respected. My imagery blends a documentary foundation with an artistic, editorial sensibility—timeless, honest photographs that preserve the story of birth as it truly felt. Whether in a hospital, birth center, or home setting, I aim to create images that families can return to again and again as a reminder of their strength, their love, and the moment everything changed.
