I had a very shitty month in terms of loss. First my client decided to go in for an induction after her OB fearmongered her for a non evidence based blood pressure issue, of course at 37 weeks with a very lox bishop score, the induction failed and she ended up with a cesarean. What strikes me is that she kept comparing her pregnancy to the one of her twin sister and despite it all, she still chose the same OB. Then a sweet young family lost their baby at 20 weeks and had to deliver her. They were a friend’s client who kindly asked me to photograph the birth. I drove 70 miles to go there with 5 hours of sleep in me and then discovered that while the doula had been fully paid, she asked me to do this service for free. Am I being petty and cheap?
Lots of to digest in the spam of few hours. To top it all off my community lost a 13 year old to suicide few days after that. I am floored.
